Hold Music, Caller Tunes and Which Setting Wins
You can replace the ringing callers hear with your own music or message, and upload your own music on hold. This guide also explains why one setting can override another on the same number.

Caller tunes and hold music
- Go to Voice → Line Manager, click the number, and choose Other Settings → Media Options.
- Choose a caller tune to play instead of ringing, or upload your own MP3.
- Adjust the volume of your tune and of the background ringing.
- Upload your own music on hold if you want it.
- Save.
Tick Disable all caller tunes to go back to normal ringing, or Disable all Music on hold to play simple ringing while callers are on hold. There's no extra charge for either.
Why one setting overrides another
Each number runs its features in a fixed order, and the first one that applies handles the call. For example, if call blocking and call forwarding are both on, blocking wins.
| Order | Feature |
| 1 | Call rejection (blocked and anonymous callers) |
| 2 | Remote dial tone |
| 3 | Remote call back |
| 4 | Conferencing |
| 5 | Auto attendant |
| 6 | Call queue |
| 7 | Do not disturb |
| 8 | Call screening |
| 9 | Forward all calls |
| 10 | Simultaneous ring |
| 11 | Hunt group |
Do not disturb can be moved above the auto attendant, queues and conferencing with Apply DND before all other features. See Do not disturb and call screening.
