Setting Up the Phone Port on a FRITZ!Box
Many FRITZ!Box routers have a built-in phone port. You can register a Click2Call number on it and plug an ordinary analogue phone straight in. This guide covers the phone settings only.

Before you start
In Voice → Line Manager, note the number and set a line password for it. If the FRITZ!Box screens misbehave in Chrome, try another browser.
Step 1: log in
Connect to the FRITZ!Box network and open http://192.168.178.1 (or http://fritz.box). Log in with the FRITZ!Box password.
Step 2: add a telephone number
Go to Telephony → Telephone Numbers. Delete any number you aren't using. Click New Telephone Number, choose IP-based Line, and click Next. Enter:
| Setting | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Telephony Provider | Other Provider |
| Telephone number for registration | Your number as shown in Line Manager, e.g. 61370500989 |
| Internal telephone number | The same number |
| User name | The same number |
| Authentication name | The same number |
| Password | The line password from Line Manager |
| Registrar | sip.click2call.com.au |
| Proxy server | sip.click2call.com.au |
| DTMF transmission | RTP/AVP |
| Use telephone number for registration | Ticked |
| Connect via | IPv4 only |
| Country code and area code prefixing | None for both |
Click Next twice. The FRITZ!Box tests the connection, and a green light appears next to the number when it registers.
Step 3: test
Plug your phone into phone port 1 (FON 1). Call a landline and a mobile, then call your number to check incoming calls.
Star codes on a FRITZ!Box
The FRITZ!Box uses star codes of its own. To use a Click2Call code, put *# in front. For example, dial *#*55 for voicemail. See Star codes.
