Setting Up Polycom VVX Phones

Click2Call can set up Polycom VVX phones (VVX 101 to VVX 601) for you. Add the phone in the portal, point it at Click2Call's provisioning server, and it configures itself.

Last reviewed: October 2026

Step 1: add the phone in the portal

Go to Voice → Phones → Add a new phone, set Phone Manufacturer to Polycom, pick your VVX model, and enter the MAC Address (on the back of the phone, on the box, or in the phone's menu under Network settings), a Description and the number for Account 1. Set up any extra keys (see Programming Phone Keys) and click Add Phone.

Step 2: factory-reset the phone (recommended)

Start from factory settings so old configuration can't interfere. In the phone's web interface (Step 3 explains how to log in), go to Utilities → Global Settings and click Restore.

Step 3: log in to the phone's web interface

Find the IP address

Press Home → Settings → Status → Network → TCP/IP Parameters. The address is next to IPv4 Addr.

Change the admin password if asked

After a reset the phone may not let you log in with the default password 456. On the phone, go to Settings → Advanced, enter 456, then Administration Settings → Change Admin Password and set a new one.

On a computer on the same network, enter the IP address in a browser and log in as Admin with that password.

Step 4: set the provisioning server

Go to Settings → Provisioning Server and set:

Click Save. The phone downloads its settings from Click2Call and restarts.

Old firmware

Phones on firmware 3.3 or older can't use web provisioning. Update the firmware first under Utilities → Software Upgrade → Check for Update; some older models need two updates to reach version 4.1.1 or later.

Handset volume

Polycom phones normally reset the handset volume after every call. Phones set up through Click2Call keep the volume you choose.
