Connecting an Analogue Phone or Fax with a Grandstream HT801 / HT802
A Grandstream HT801 or HT802 (an analogue telephone adaptor, or ATA) lets you plug an ordinary home or office phone — or a fax machine — into Click2Call. Click2Call configures the adaptor for you.

Step 1: add the adaptor in the portal
Go to Voice → Phones → Add a new phone and set:
- Phone Manufacturer: Grandstream
- Phone Type: Grandstream HT801 (one phone port) or HT802 (two ports) — or your HT81x model
- MAC Address: from the sticker on the bottom of the adaptor
- Description: a name you'll recognise, e.g. Reception fax
- Account 1 (and Account 2 on an HT802): the number for each phone port
- Call Waiting: Disabled if a fax machine is connected
Click Add Phone.
Step 2: find the adaptor's IP address
If the adaptor has been used before, factory-reset it first: hold the Reset button on the back for about 10 seconds with a paperclip. Plug a phone into the Phone port and the adaptor into your router. Lift the handset and dial ***02 — a voice reads out the adaptor's IP address.
Step 3: log in and set the provisioning server
On a computer on the same network, enter the IP address in a browser and log in as admin (default password admin, or the password printed on the bottom of the adaptor). Go to the Upgrade section:
- Firmware tab: Firmware Upgrade via HTTPS, Firmware Server Path gs.securevoip.nz
- Config File tab: Config Upgrade via HTTPS, Config Server Path gs.securevoip.nz
- Provision tab: untick Allow DHCP Option 43 or 66 or 160 to Override Server
On older HT801/HT802 firmware the same settings are under Advanced Settings instead of separate tabs.
Step 4: save and restart
Click Save and Apply, then Reboot if the adaptor doesn't restart by itself. It downloads its settings from Click2Call and the phone port is ready to use. Lift the handset and check for dial tone, then make a test call.
