Custom Queries: Ask the AI About Every Call
A custom query is a question the AI answers about every call from its transcript, such as “Did the caller book a job?” or “What product did they ask about?”. The answers are saved with each call.

Before you start
Queries read transcripts, so call recording and transcription must be on. The free plan has 1 query; AI Premium has up to 5. See Free vs Premium.
Create a query
- Go to AI → Custom Queries and click Create query.
- Give it a Name and, if you like, a Description.
- Write the Question, and any Additional instructions to guide the answer.
- Choose the Response type (below).
- Make sure Enabled is ticked, and click Save changes.
| Response type | The answer is |
|---|---|
| Free text | A short written answer. |
| Single choice | One of the choices you list. |
| Multiple choice | Any of the choices you list, with a minimum and maximum number. |
| Yes / No | Yes or no. |
| Score | A score between a minimum and maximum you set. |
| Number | A number. |
| Support ticket | A support-ticket style summary of the call. |
Where the answers go
Each call’s answers are saved with its AI analysis. If you use webhooks, they are sent as custom_responses in the call summary.
Free up a slot
A query that already has results can be archived instead of deleted. Click Archive query: it stops running, its past answers stay, and the slot is free for a new query.
