How to Divert Calls to Your Mobile During Business Hours (and Voicemail After Hours)

The most common setup for a small business: calls to your business number ring your mobile during the day, and after hours callers leave a voicemail that lands in your inbox as an email with a transcript. It works on a single inbound number and takes about ten minutes.

Forwarding Calls to Your Mobile, Step by Step

1

Check your time zone

Log in to the portal and go to Voice → Profiles. Make sure the Time Zone on your Default Profile is set to your Australian zone (for example Australia/Brisbane). Every "Work Hours" rule below relies on it.

2

Set your work hours

Go to Voice → Line Manager and click your business number to open its Call Flow page. In the Other Settings dropdown choose Time Schedules, then under Work Hours enter your days and times in 24-hour format (for example Monday to Friday 07:00 to 16:00) and save.

3

Forward to your mobile during work hours

Back on the line page, open the Incoming Calls dropdown and choose Call Forwarding. Under Forward Always Rule #1 tick Enabled, enter your mobile number, set Time Schedule to During Work Hours, and tick Forward Before all other features so the divert wins over any other routing. Save.

4

Send after-hours calls to voicemail-to-email

From the Incoming Calls dropdown choose Voice Mail. In Send a copy of my voicemail messages to the following email address enter your email (separate several with a semicolon) and save. Outside your work hours the forward is inactive, so callers reach voicemail and each message is emailed to you with a text transcript.

5

Record a greeting (optional)

Dial *58 from any phone on your account to record your unavailable greeting, or upload an MP3 on the Voice Mail page. Test by calling your number from another phone inside and outside your work hours.

Good to know: During work hours, a diverted call that rings out is answered by your mobile’s own voicemail, not Click2Call’s. If you would rather always use Click2Call voicemail, use Simultaneous Ring instead of Forward Always.
