Call Recording Settings on a Number
Each number or extension has its own call recording settings. You can record every call or only calls with certain numbers, play an announcement, email each recording, and pause or start recording during a call.
Last reviewed: October 2026
Open the settings
Go to Voice → Line Manager and click the number or extension. From the Other Settings menu, choose Call Recording. Untick Disable ALL call recording features on this number to turn recording on, choose your options, then save.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Play a message before the call starts | Tells the other person the call may be monitored or recorded. |
| Record ALL of my calls / Only record calls for the following numbers | Record everything, or only calls with the numbers you list (one per line, with the area code). |
| Direction | Record both directions, only outgoing calls, or only incoming calls. |
| Do NOT allow manual recording options during a call | Turns off the in-call codes below. |
| Send a copy of all call recordings to my email address | Emails each recording. Add an alternative address, or it goes to the account email. |
Codes during a call
| Dial | To |
|---|---|
#3 | Pause recording, for example while a card number is read out. |
#4 | Resume recording. |
*1 | Start or stop a separate recording of part of the call. |
*20 + number | Make one outgoing call without recording, when recording is normally on. |
*21 + number | Record one outgoing call, when recording is normally off. |
Recording and the law
To comply with Australian law, the people on a call must know it is being recorded. The simplest way is the announcement option above, or a Message Playback notice.
Good to know: Recordings are in the portal under AI → Recordings and Account → Records. To have them transcribed and summarised, see Recording, Transcription and AI Analysis.
